Musical Theatre: From Page to Stage

Starting in 4th grade
3:15pm - 4:30pm
Students will create (compose and write) their own musical theatre piece using popular music or songs, poems, and/or plays. Original songs can be created as well. Students will learn the world of musical theatre under the guidance of a director and musical director. Combining the technical skills learned in voice and movement classes, students will be taught to express the dramatic circumstances of an original or published piece. Students will learn musical theatre terminology, protocol, and participate in solos, duets and/or chorus selections. Ensemble work is very important in this class. This course ends in a final presentation.

This class is for students 4th grade and up.
