Acting for Film & TV
Joseph Rana is a filmmaker and editor who is now a rising sophomore at the School of Visual Arts in their BFA Film Program.
He began shooting, and editing his own music videos at a young age, which sparked his passion to become a filmmaker. Since then, he has specialized in honing his craft in film editing, color grading, and directing.

Joseph has studied at the Summer Arts Institute in Astoria, NY, a six week intensive where he studied documentary work and narrative filmmaking. Joseph was also a film instructor at Astoria Film Festival’s STEAM Film Workshop where he taught young children and teenagers how to create a film and how to use Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
He has directed and edited several narrative films and documentaries, one of them being Baci, which will be screened at the Astoria Film Festival in October 2020.

In addition to his experience in filmmaking and directing, he has also dabbled in stage management and lighting design. He stage managed an off-off-Broadway take on The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time in May 2019.

Joseph is beyond excited to help young artists grow, and understand the beauty and emotion that goes into the art of filmmaking and acting.
