Heather LoSchiavo
Acting/Improvisation/Audition
The acting community knows Heather to be an inspirational force in the classroom and an intuitive collaborator. She is an accomplished performer and dedicated educator who nurtures a following of amateur teens through professional adult performers. Her students have performed on Broadway, radio, and numerous films, TV series, and national commercials. A sample of their successes includes: 30 Rock, The Killing, Law & Order, Skins, Sex and the City, iCarly, Boys Don’t Cry (1999 Oscar winner), Billy Elliot (Broadway Production & Touring Companies-15 Tony Award Nomination), and Frost Nixon (Broadway Production, Tony & Drama Desk Awards). Her actors have also gone on to study at: LaGuardia, PPAS, Frank Sinatra and Talent Unlimited High Schools as well as Boston Conservatory, Boston University, Cal Arts, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, Duke University, Emerson College, Ithaca College, Juilliard, Marymount Manhattan College, NYU, Northwestern, Pace University, Skidmore, SUNY Purchase, The Hartt School, University of the Arts, Vassar and Yale.
Heather’s own training began at The Neighborhood Playhouse Junior School. She went on to earn a BFA degree from Marymount Manhattan College and furthered her professional training experiences with Caymichael Patten in NYC and LA. She has worked at The Public Theater and The New Victory Theater, performed at Lincoln Center, Dixon Place, The 92nd Street Y, BAM, Brooklyn College, ATA, The Trilogy, Producers Club, NADA, HERE, Carnegie Hall, Caramoor Center for Music and Arts, The Cathedral of Saint John The Divine, The American Theatre, Classic Stage (CSC), Chicago City Limits, on ABC, NBC, HBO, in many independent films – one most recently featured on the Chiller Network, and as a voice over artist for USmagazine, Pampers, Jello, and Playtex. Additional experiences include affiliations with directors from The Henry Street Settlement, The Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Signature Theatre Company, The Women's Project, The Second Stage Theatre, Jean Cocteau Repertory Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club, Circle Repertory Company, Playwright's Horizons, American Place Theatre, and The Nuyorican Poets Café.
Heather is a long-time member of SAG-AFTRA and has worked all over the country and abroad. She also maintains teaching positions at Professional Performing Arts School and Broadway Training Center of Westchester. Ms. LoSchiavo is proud to be a member of the long-standing community at The Neighborhood Playhouse, strengthening today’s emerging acting community and contributing to the legacy of the school.
